Hello interview with Liam and Louis

harrylouisw:

Louis and Liam, are you taking a break from 1D to do solo work?

Louis: “I think the bottom line is we’re just looking foward to spending some time with our family and friends, staying at home, and doing normal things. I’m sure people will want to write different music but that’s really exciting. To see what Liam might do or what I might do…We’re going to support each other throughout that.”

Liam: “We want a to plan a lads’ holiday together because we’ve been touring for so long and haven’t really partied much. I really want to do a skydive. We should do that!.”

You haven’t been partying?

Louis: “Not as a much as anyone else our age.”

Liam: “We have so much to celebrate: the great work our fans have done and how hard we’ve worked over the years. We haven’t really stopped to think or look at all different things we’ve archived. You get told different things all the time but you kind of forget, which is sad. I want to sit down and go, “Woah, what just happened?”

Louis: “It will take a little gap for us to realise what’s gone on.”

How important is the bond that keeps you together?

Louis: “It’s more important than ever. I think that has been evident over the last few months because we have really having been getting on better than ever. We have a relationship where if someone says something you can still go, “Hang on a minute, “what are you trying to say there?” So we’re got a good relationship  haven’t we, lad?

Liam: “For sure.”

How have success and stardom changed you?

Liam: “I think we’ve all grown up, but also growing to a situation like this has changed the course of our lives, not just the One Direction way but the way we’ve grown up.”

Can you go out in public without wearing a disguise?

Liam: “Yeah, it depends. Sometimes I go to the local Sainsbury’s  and I get away with it.”

What keeps you down to earth?

Louis: “Keeping people around you that aren’t in the bubble, because it’s such a crazy, different lifestyle. We’ve always made a habit of keeping our friends from home close. It keeps me grounded, otherwise you just have people around you that are so amazed and captivated by the whole thing. Also, you get abuse from your mates, which you don’t get always get from others.

Liam: “Just going home, as well as seeing my parents and people I haven’t seen for ages, keeps my feet on the ground. I went home [to Wolverhampton] the other day and was driving around the streets where I used to live, which was interesting because I couldn’t drive the last time I was there. Going back to the place where it all started makes me realise how lucky I am to be in the position I’m in.”

Do you still enjoy all that travelling?

Louis: “Although a lot of the time we just fly in and fly out, it’s still amazing to say we have been to those places.”

Liam: “We love the tour bus when we go on the road. I missed that this year. A lot of my best memories of One Direction have been on the bus, acting like pure idiots when we were younger, finding our way through life…”

Your new release Made in the A.M., is the first 1D album without Zayn. How different is it?

Liam: “It has changed the dynamics and the whole course of the record, which is about our journey from the time of 1D happening to us going on a break, so it’s very poignant.  But it wasn’t dramatically different because we record on our own, anyway, and Zayn didn’t do much writing on the other albums, either.

Louis: “Also hopefully it’s evident to everyone that [there] are times like you have to bond together, which is exactly what we did. We sat down and had an long chat about it and everyone was feeling the same ambition, so on we go.”

Is it true your single Perfect is partly to do with Taylor Swift?

Liam: “That one bit of the song came in very late, so it won’t change the whole realm of the song. Louis wrote on it too, so how could he write about Taylor Swift - [to Louis] unless you have some secret thing going on? It might be for somebody, but we can’t say that. It’s still a bad boy tune.

Louis: “Everybody draws on their own experience so it’s not crazy thing if that’s what it’s about.”

You mentioned making another album together. So is there a future for 1D?

Liam: Yeah, the best thing about the break is that we more time to write music. We haven’t had much time as we’d liked on all of our albums because it happened so fast. So it’s going to be interesting to see how it differs having a lot of time. There’s definitely a massive hope for us to come back together and we both definitely feel that. Who knows when will that be, but there will be a lot of music waiting.”
